USED 20-FOOT CONTAINER

The most popular shipping container type we sell is the used general purpose containers also known as dry van containers.  These used shipping containers have been in service for over 12 years transporting goods around the world before being retired. Most used shipping containers will have the original paint and shipping line markings. They will have surface rust, repairs, dents, and abrasions due to normal wear and tear from being in service for many years.  Used shipping containers may look rough but still, be structurally sound.  New One Trip shipping containers and Refurbished shipping containers may be a good options if appearance is important.

20' Used shipping containers - Selecting the proper shipping container grade

  • Cargo Worthy shipping containers are new and used shipping containers that can still be used for international shipping.   A used cargo-worthy container has been inspected to make sure it is structurally sound with no leaks and solid floors.   If you plan to use a cargo-worthy container for international shipping your shipping line will require an independent survey inspection which we can help arrange prior to pick up or delivery.
  • Wind and Watertight shipping containers are used shipping containers that have been inspected to make sure they do not leak. They will show signs of wear and tear from being in service.  Some used wind and water-tight containers will have floors with soft spots caused be delamination. If you plan to use a forklift we suggest upgrading the grade to cargo worthy to ensure the floors can handle the weight.
  • As Is shipping container is a container that has been deemed too damaged to repair economically or we were not able to inspect. It will likely have structural and aesthetic flaws such as holes in its walls, broken flooring or other serious issues. Unless the container is going to be used for a purpose that does not require structural soundness or where appearance does not matter, it is best to avoid this type of container.

NEW 20 FOOT CONTAINER

New One Trip shipping containers
are new containers that have been used only once. These were built to be sold as new shipping containers.  We load these new containers with goods in Asia so we can use the freight charges to offset the repositioning costs.  These containers will have minor dents, dings, and abrasions due to normal shipping movements. These containers will be IICL grade which is the highest grade. .

REFURBISHED 20 FOOT CONTAINER

Refurbished Shipping Containers
are wind and water-tight containers that have been “renewed”  by being cleaned and painted. We offer three levels of refurbishment: Typical, Full, and Factory, each catering to different needs. Typical refurbishment includes painting the outside of the container which includes removing loose rust with a wire wheel and spot priming.  Then the exterior is painted with 2 coats of paint including the shipping line markings, roof, and gaskets.  Full refurbishment adds interior paint.   Factory refurbishment requires an extensive overhaul of the container including sand blasting, removing some dents, and installation of new gaskets.
