There are 3 types of flat rack containers:

Collapsible flat racks allow the two ends walls or posts to fold down which makes it easy to load and unload, as well as store. Four collapsible flat racks stacked on top of each other take up almost the same amount of space as one standard dry van shipping container.
Non-collapsible flat racks have fixed walls or posts on both ends. This type of flat rack is stronger and can accommodate heavier loads.
Both types of flat rack containers have numerous lashing rings fixed to the sides, the corners, and the wooden floor of the container so that cargo can be tied down. Some flat racks also come with lashing belts, stanchions, and lashing winches for added security.
Flat rack containers come in 20-foot and 40-foot sizes.
